How booking for Edinburgh Festival Fringe works

There is no single on-sale. Shows are registered by their own companies through the spring and early summer and go on sale as they are registered, so the programme fills up gradually rather than opening at one moment. The date worth watching is the programme launch, when the bulk of shows become bookable at once. Big names sell out early; most of the Fringe is available on the day.
